As a vital member of our opening team, you will play a significant role in our company’s next chapter in history. You are about to embark upon an amazing new adventure with Disney Cruise Line. By joining the Disney Destiny, you'll be part of a storytelling legacy that spans 100 years, bringing heroic and heartwarming Disney adventures to life, now in new ways. We trust you are up for the challenge and ready to create lasting memories with fellow Crew and Cast during this time. Whether you have been part of the launch of a new ship previously or will be experiencing this incredible feat for the first time, you can expect to be proud of the contribution you will make to bring the Disney Destiny to life. Being part of an opening team is hard, but necessary work, and we feel confident that you will find it worth it.

Will it take time for the Disney Destiny to reach full splendor? Yes, but we will train, and test our ideas and make changes as needed to achieve the excellence that Disney Cruise Line is known for. You will be instrumental to the success of our launch and the lifelong memories we will create for Guests during our Maiden Voyage in November, and for years to come.

Safety has always been and will continue to be a top priority for each of you, our Crew and Cast, our partners, and for our future Guests.

Upon arrival to Bremen or Amsterdam, you will attend training sessions to help you adapt to your new environment. Teamwork will be at the heart of our success, so please know, you will not be alone. Your leaders, as well as fellow Crew members, will be there to offer guidance as you transition into your new life with DCL.

The following information will help answer the frequently asked questions you may have before you arrive. Each section is designed to help you "Know Before You Go."

What to pack

Preparing for your time in Germany/the Netherlands

When packing personal clothing, please keep the weather in mind. Average temperatures in Germany can range from 8 to 22 degrees Celsius (45 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit) from May through October, and rain can occur frequently in the summer and early autumn. Please check the local weather before you travel and remember that you might be packing for more than one season. Initially, Crew will not be required to wear costumes during their time in Germany, so it is important to pack a sufficient amount of comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Please remember to also pack closed-toe shoes and thick socks to wear with the steel-toed shoes that DCL will provide for wearing at the shipyard.

Prohibited items

Crew are prohibited from bringing and operating personal equipment with high power consumption or anything that could cause a fire hazard. This includes:

• Electric blankets
• Infrared light lamps
• Iron
• Electric kettle
• Immersion heater
• Cooking appliances
• High-powered haircare appliances, such as hair dryers

The following equipment is tolerated but must be disconnected from the mains supply when leaving the cabin:
• Electric shaver
• Electric toothbrushes
• Chargers

Don't forget your nametag! It is important to bring your Disney Cruise Line name tag with you, as neither the shipyard nor the ship will have the capability to issue a new one immediately upon your arrival.

Training

In Germany and the Netherlands, training will be held in-person. In the days before traveling, you will receive an email detailing the training scheduled after your arrival, including regulatory, health and safety familiarization training, learning about shipboard policies and procedures, on-the-job training and leadership training, if applicable.

While in Germany and the Netherlands, Crew should come prepared to wear their personal, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and expect to wear hard hats and steel-toed shoes during their time in the shipyard. Crew should also wear, or pack closed-toe shoes for use outside of the shipyard.

As we prepare for another important milestone of moving onboard the Disney Destiny as our new home, here is some important information regarding your upcoming transition to living onboard:

Personal Protective Equipment

Since much of the ship will still be under construction when we transition on board, Crew and Officers will be required to wear Personal Protective equipment while moving around the ship at all times. This includes the following items provided to you upon your arrival to Germany and the Netherlands:

• Hard Hats
• Steel-toed Shoes
• Reflective Wear (vests or jackets)
• FFP2 Mask

If you do not have the proper PPE, contact your leader immediately.

Policies & Procedures

All Disney Cruise Line Policies and Procedures will be followed onboard.

Drugs and Alcohol Policy

Alcohol is not allowed onboard while the ship is located at the shipyard. The zero-tolerance alcohol policy is in accordance with Meyer Werft regulations, and all Crew living onboard are required to abide by this policy. This means you cannot bring any alcohol of any kind on board with you, and you are not able to have it delivered to the ship.

• Those who attempt to bring alcohol of any kind on board (beer, wine, liquor) will be banned entry for two years into any Meyer Werft facility and will not be allowed onto the ship
• Breathalyzer alcohol tests may be conducted by Meyer Werft at the gangway
  • DCL employees may not have a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.08% or greater. Certain employees, based on their duties, may not have a BAC of 0.04% or greater at any time
• Although several jurisdictions have legalized marijuana for medicinal and/or recreational use, it remains prohibited under the Company policy

Wi-Fi Reminder

• While we plan to have Wi-Fi on board throughout our time in Eemshaven, please remember to sign out whenever you are not actively using it to save bandwidth
• WhatsApp, iMessage, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, etc. will be available
• You will not have access to stream or download any music or movies

Cash & ATMs

• No cash will be used once we board the ship – this includes no access to an ATM and you will not be able to use cash to settle crew accounts

Shopping & Deliveries

• We will not have a Crew Shop, on board, until delivery.

In most European countries, both emergency services and/or the police have 112. If you need medication, be sure to have a sufficient supply and the relating prescriptions with you while traveling.

In case of emergency, go to the nearest hospital or call 112. This number works across Europe, even on most locked mobile phones. You can tell them what happened in English and they will call police, ambulance, or fire brigade depending upon what is required.
