As you begin to pack for your upcoming journey, take time to prepare and ensure you have the appropriate documents and personal belongings.
- Everything you bring will be stored in only your cabin
- You must be able to carry your own belongings, it is recommended that you use wheeled luggage
- Soft-sided bags and suitcases are quick and easy to store
- Refer to your airline's website for information regarding how many bags they allow. The company will pay the cost for two checked bag of standard weight for joining, transferring and repatriation travel. If the airfare booked does not include two checked bags crew will be reimbursed for fees paid out of pocket. The company will reimburse a maximum of 23kgs per bag for the second bag, regardless of airline weight limit for the first bag.
- Comfortable, casual clothing such as jeans, shorts and t-shirts of good taste can be worn in crew areas.
- Depending on the ship itinerary you are sailing, temperatures can vary between warm, tropical climates to colder climates, depending on the season. A sweater or jacket is recommended for cooler evenings.
- You will also need a swimsuit to participate in Personal Survival Techniques (PST) safety training (known as "wet drill"), and for your personal relaxation time.
- In addition to casual clothing, we suggest you bring at least one nice outfit to wear for special occasions or crew events. Sunglasses, suntan lotion and/or bug spray are also strongly recommended.
- On Castaway Cay you will be living in the Bahamas where the climate is tropical throughout the year. It can be rather humid on most days with showers during the rainy season. Long sleeve and/or pants are recommended for winter months and to prevent bug bites and/or sunburn. A sweater, wind breaker and/or light jacket for cooler mornings and evenings is also recommended. Do not forget that you will likely be wearing your crew costume more frequently, so pack conservatively.
Note:
During shoreside training, and Disney Traditions, we ask that you wear business casual attire. Please bring enough for 2-3 days. Formal business clothing (a suit, tie and/or dress) are not required. Your time spent in shore-side training will vary based on ship and required training.
We suggest bringing enough toiletries (i.e. shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, hair spray, etc.) to last for at least your first two weeks onboard. Prices are higher for toiletries and other personal items in some ports and your first few weeks onboard will be very busy.
For those on the ship, you will be able to go ashore to shop for additional personal items when your schedule allows. If you forget something, limited items are available at a discounted cost for purchase in the Crew Store onboard.
- Appliances such as hair dryers and razors from most parts of the world will work on the ship
- A small radio or portable/personal audio player with headphones is recommended.
-
We recommend you bring a watch and a battery-powered alarm clock.
Clothing irons, kettles, blenders, or heat-producing equipment may not be brought on board. Disney Cruise Line will provide access to those items. UL, CE, CSA or equivalent approved coffee or hot drink machines that make single cups from capsules may be used in cabins.
If you have any questions regarding whether or not you can bring a particular item onboard, please check with the Crew Office onboard.
