Josh D’Amaro — Chairman of Disney Experiences — unveiled on August 10, 2024, at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event Presented by Visa that four new ships will be joining Disney Cruise Line’s award-winning fleet. The new ships will debut between 2027 and 2031.
“Disney Cruise Line is consistently the top-rated cruise line for families because it offers something for everyone. Expanding our fleet gives more people, in more parts of the world, the opportunity to experience a vacation at sea like only Disney can provide,” Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, said at Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.
The ship names, designs, and itineraries are still in development.
In July 2024, it was also revealed that Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) entered a new agreement that will bring year-round Disney cruise vacations to Japan, expected to commence by early 2029. This is the latest evolution in an over 40-year relationship between Disney and OLC, which owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort. The addition of a locally based Disney cruise ship, operated by OLC, will offer fun and relaxation for Japanese Disney fans and visitors during magical voyages filled with the incredible entertainment, world-class dining and exceptional guest service that set Disney cruises apart.
