Please be mindful of the requirements that apply for your travel at the start and end of your contract. It is important that your passport and visas are valid for all of your travels. When traveling to and from certain countries, know that passport validity requirements may vary based on location and nationality. For example, crew traveling to and from Singapore should make sure that their passport is valid at least six months beyond the end of contract. In addition, travel requirements may vary for holders of C1/D visas. Contact us if you have any questions about what documents you will need to travel. |
Renewing Your Passport
All Crew Members must verify that their passport is valid for the entire duration of their contract.
If the primary passport in which you travel on has expired or will expire prior to your scheduled contract end date, you must take action to renew your passport.
If you possess a secondary passport and/or live in a different country other than your primary passport country and possess government issued documentation (i.e. Visa, Driver’s license, State ID, Residence card, etc.) to support repatriation to that country, DCL will also collect this additional documentation.
Please review this information and take any necessary action to ensure your most up to date documentation is on file and valid for the start & conclusion of your next contract.
Renewing Your C1/D Visa
If your C1/D Visa is not valid for at least 30 days after your next contract, you must renew. Please schedule your visa renewal appointment as soon as possible to avoid delays.
You will need a Confirmation of Employment (COE) letter to complete the visa renewal process at the US Embassy. A COE will be created for you within the week of your debark date if you C1/D Visa is due for renewal before your next contract. In the event, you need to renew your C1/D Visa before this, you can request a COE.
If you have recently debarked or requested a COE Letter, please check here: COE Letter Access.
