Be sure to complete these steps before you travel:
Get all of your documents together. Be sure that you have submitted a copy of your signed contract and any new passports or visas using the DCL Document Upload tool.
-
Contract - You may have received this onboard during your last contract or by email from the Personnel team. If you do not have a copy, please click here to submit a request.
-
Returning Crew Letter - Please check your debark packet to verify your Returning Crew Letter has your current passport number and the date and port where you will be embarking. If you need an updated letter, please click here to submit a request.
-
Passport and any required visas. Please see the Joining Documents section of this site for additional information about the process to new your passport or C1/D visa and answers to frequently asked questions. Verify if you need a travel visa to arrive at your destination.
-
Medical and original STCW safety certificates. All Crew Members are required to have an approved medical certificate valid for the complete duration of their return contract. For more information about the medical renewal process, please click here. If you hold a Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (CPSC) certificate, bring this with you even if it has expired or was issued more than five years ago.
If you have any questions about your documents or what may be required before you embark, please let us know.
Review your travel itinerary and verify you meet all requirements needed to board your flight as well as successfully arrive at your final destination without any delays. Note: Some requirements may be specific to your nationality.
Review key travel and arrival details for your embark port city. Helpful tip: We strongly recommend you screenshot and/or print these key arrival details as Wi-Fi access could be limited while you are traveling.
Pack your bags! Check your packing list to make sure you don't forget anything you will need, and please be sure you are not bringing any items that are prohibited onboard.
